"Zack Snyder's Justice League" creator credits

I'm not here to weigh in on this four-hour grimdark Justice League (though I kind of just did) except in three non-spoiler ways:

  1. On one level I think it's great that the voices of fans carry so much weight and helped get this movie made. At the same time I hope if this film is a success, it doesn't further prioritize commerce over art.
  2. I was disappointed (but of course not surprised) that we did not get to see a backup team of Lois Lane, Commissioner Gordon, Mera, Iris West, Silas Stone, and the ghost of Steve Trevor, with Alfred as Oracle.
  3. As always with DC movies, I'm almost as interested in the creator credits as the film itself. Here they are for ZSJL:

  2. Similarly, three other names should be in the Wonder Woman credit line: Elizabeth Holloway Marston, Olive Byrne, and H.G. Peter. That's a Finger-level injustice that should be corrected.
  3. Aquaman and Cyborg both receive creator credit in comic books that those characters headline, but not here. Aquaman was created by Paul Norris and Mort Weisinger (though for some reason only Norris is in the official credit line). Cyborg was created by Marv Wolfman and George PĂ©rez. All four of those creator names are on the "Special Thanks" list, but I don't know why they weren't credited specifically for their characters the way the creators of Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman were.
  4. I also don't know why there is a huge gap between the credits for Justice League of America, Batman, and Wonder Woman and the credit for Fourth World. Yes, the former three are household names, but I don't recall such odd spacing in other DC film credits.
  5. So nice to see the names Jerry Robinson (co-creator of Dick Grayson/Robin and the Joker) and Carmine Infantino (co-creator of Barry Allen/Flash), both of whom were heroes of my Bill Finger research and neither of whom are officially credited in print.
  6. In print, the awkward "By special arrangement with the Jerry Siegel family" line immediately follows "Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster." In this film, Superman is the only character whose creators are listed in the opening credits, and while I don't like the "arrangement" line, it seems even weirder so removed from its usual partner.

I don't exactly know if this will work the way I intend it too, but it really brought a tear to my eye when I saw Jerry Robinsons name in the credits of the "joker" film... unfortunately I never got to meet him but while not through blood but through adoption, Jerry Robinson happens to be my... ok.. my dad was adopted, not mattering at all to me as they were the family I knew growing up, my dad's adoptive father, was Jerry's nephew... so Jerry is my.. Great great uncle lol... I know that was a mouthful but I just watched your new documentary and I have to say I'm more than impressed and I think it was a great thing that you did for Mr. Finger and his family and I want you to know that while out of that side of my family my aunt is the only remaining person which I cut ties with for personal reasons, and I never even got to meet Jerry, I do appreciate what you did on Jerry's behalf also, I know it was focused on bill finger and Jerry achieved most of his own recognition through a longer life than Bill on his own but you really did alot for everyone involved I think I grew up not knowing all that much about comics or really being into them at all but I understood who my uncle was and I knew my family borderline hated Bob Kane lol so I actually grew up knowing bill finger as the figure Kane claimed to be but, I don't know, even though I never got to meet him, for personal reasons I wanted to say thank you.. it made me remember my family in a very good way, my dad and the parents that adopted him and that I've known since birth, all died within the space of like.. less than 2 years starting with my dad, and I do really miss them and that part of my life, but we all gonna have to go at some point... i mean obviously you realise the impact you've made in the world because of your help towards making things right but you've still done more than the obvious and you should be prouder than everyone said you should be already lol because you did a great job! You managed to bring a tear and a smile to Jerry Robinsons great great nephew through adoption aswell as the viewers of your brilliant documentary... I'm sure you've gotten a lot of " oh I was bills neighbours cat back in 54" I am really Jerry's nephew I've got a signed framed batman drawing to prove it lol but you did well man, you should be proud that you helped families that weren't your own get the recognition they didn't get enough of while they lived...
